Shamrocker Adventures – 7 Day All Ireland Rocker Tour

After a couple of awesome days in Dublin, we were off to explore Ireland. It is always difficult to decide how you will travel and which places to visit when you have limited vacation time and limited budget. In the end, we decided to go with a tour – Shamrocker Adventures’ 7 Day All Ireland Rocker Tour, hoping it would give us a glimpse of the beautiful Emerald Isle and give us some ideas for what to see and which places to visit, if** we decide we want to return. (**see last paragraph!)

So, what did we think of the trip? We loved it! There were a couple of things that could have been better but all in all, we give it 10 sheep out of 10!

Over the next couple of weeks, we will share our trip and experiences with you all. We hope that our posts and reviews will be helpful for independent travelers trying to decide where in Ireland to visit and what attractions to see, as well as for those considering taking a guided tour of Ireland – such as the Shamrocker Adventures trip that we went on.

We will make a note here that we paid for this trip ourselves and did not receive any compensation for writing about our experience. Our blog posts and reviews are of our own experience in September 2015 and are our honest opinions.

Here’s the All Ireland Rocker tour description from the Shamrocker Adventures website:

Our ultimate Irish adventure! Explore the whole of the island, north and south, plus Inis Mór (the Aran Islands) hidden away off the west coast. This one has it all — traditional music, stunning scenery, ancient monuments and vibrant towns, plus great craic on the road and at night. This is your chance to see Ireland through Irish eyes. Seven action-packed and fun-filled days which may well turn out to be the best days of your life!

That description is pretty accurate! It was definitely action-packed – with loads of adventures and exploring the whole trip. Let’s just say… It was LEGS DAY every single day! And it was great – it’s no fun being stuck on a bus for the entire trip. That was our biggest question mark when considering a bus tour – you always hear those stories of people being shepherded between attractions and only getting off for 15 minutes, before having to return to the bus in order to make it to the next stop in time. We felt that the itinerary was planned well – it wasn’t circuitous and there wasn’t any unnecessary doubling back. That’s another great thing about Ireland, I suppose – it’s not a huge country, so it gave us more time to get off the bus and stretch our legs – as well as climb hills, scramble over rocks and peek out over soaring cliffs.

It was a grand time indeed – with so much history, stories, adventures and exploring!

We are really glad we decided to go with this tour. We had a great group on the tour and made some wonderful new friends! It is really true that the people you meet can make your trip that much better. We felt this tour gave us a good look at Ireland and we also got an idea of which places we would return to on our next trip. Yes, we are already thinking about returning to Ireland and we were just there 3 months ago!  That’s the kind of pull Ireland has on us!

First stop of our trip – Belfast!
